Colt Moss Lives Where Native Americans Dwelled 7000 Years Ago

Attorney Colt Moss was born in Des Moines, Iowa in the Midwest of the United States.  The largest city and capital of Iowa, Fort De Moines of 1851 was named for Trappist monks who had lived in huts atop the ancient Monks Mound at Cahokia, Illinois.  Moines translates from the French de.mwen, meaning ‘from the monks’.  French colonists named the Des Moines River, and the settlement’s fort took its name from the river.  Downtown Des Moines today contains the remains of at least three prehistoric villages and a 7,000 year old site dubbed ‘The Palace’, discovered in 2010.  Many prehistoric Indian mounts were destroyed as the city of Des Moines grew.

The birthplace and hometown of barrister Colt Moss was the adopted home of the prehistoric Sauk and Meskwaki Native Americans.  The Sauk and Meskwaki had been removed from their traditional homelands in eastern Iowa and relocated to the newly erected Fort at the junction of the Des Moines and Raccoon Rivers.  The society of these Native Americans suffered greatly there as their native culture gave way to the vice and degradation of illegal whiskey.

Colt Moss: What Makes a Successful Law Firm?

Colt Moss is grateful for the opportunity not only to work in the legal profession, but to do so for a firm which shares Colt Moss 's commitment to client service and quality representation. An Attorney at Law at the Des Moines, Iowa-based Wandro and Associates, Moss works with colleagues daily who share his passion for and dedication to results-driven representation; all of which takes place in a professional, collegial and collaborative environment.

Successful, client-driven firms, as Colt Moss knows, tend to share certain traits; those which put them at an advantage over others in the profession. Such characteristics commonly include:
Diligent, Vigilant Lawyers
Successful firms tend to be staffed by attorneys who not only possess expertise in their particular field(s) of practice, but who share in the mission to work diligently and endlessly on the client’s behalf. Such teams of attorneys now exactly what type of representation it is that they offer, and have the ability to work together in the pursuit of the client’s best interest.
A Commitment to ‘Quality’ Work
Any attorney can fill space during a given process. It’s those attorneys, and their firms, which put in the extensive effort, time and tenacity into each individual case that tend to stand out from the rest. Such firms not only dig deep to produce creative solutions on behalf of the client, but do their best to keep each client informed on what’s going on.
Accountability
Successful, notable firms take responsibility for their successes and their failures, and expect nothing less of their associates. Accountability is key to maintaining a client-driven atmosphere.

Colt Moss: When Politics Bleed into Trial Defense

Colt Moss graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa in 2007 and still carries the instincts of his political science studies with him as a trial attorney for Wandro and Associates in West Des Moines, Iowa. He frequently helps his clients win their cases even when they are complicated by local and national politics.

While Colt Moss loves working with his clients and wants “to help them find hope and optimism in an otherwise challenging time,” he finds he must also at times navigate the political landscape around him. He has come into contact with changing laws which affect the small nuances of some of his cases at times. This makes for a complicated defense sometimes, but he is always up to the challenge because of his background in how politics work and his knowledge of the political spectrum.

Colt Moss is well-known in his community for his excellent defense skills.

Philip Colt Moss can’t specialize in any one small area of law because he’s expected to assist many different clients in all of their legal situations. Moss had to familiarize himself with the specific tenants’ rights as well as landlords in Iowa and West Des Moines. In Iowa, landlords have to disclose specific information, typically in the lease or rental agreement in writing, including the identity of any individual authorized to enter the unit and act on the landlord’s behalf. Colt Moss also works with his clients to ensure that any dispute between tenant and landlord is within the specifications of the law in Iowa, some of which includes how much a landlord can charge for a security deposit, and more.

Philip Colt Moss is a versatile and experienced attorney who knows how to sway a judge or jury in favor of his client in almost any situation in his local client base.
